About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to lead all aspects of maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement at a 465,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility . The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership and technical expertise with the ability to drive operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Maintenance & Operations

  • Oversee maintenance, repair, and upgrades of facility systems and equipment.
  • Manage vendor relationships, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost control.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 20 direct and 15 indirect maintenance personnel.
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.

Budget & Performance Management

  • Monitor key maintenance metrics, including cost per pound and M&R budget adherence.
  • Apply strong financial acumen to drive efficiency, including cost analysis using Agristats .

Compliance & Safety

  • Implement and enforce safety programs.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA, HACCP, sanitation, and pre-operation guidelines .

Project Oversight

  • Oversee weekend rebuilds and major repair projects.
  • Coordinate with M&R vendors to ensure timely and effective project execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in maintenance, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of progressive maintenance management experience in a manufacturing environment (poultry/food processing preferred).
  • Proven track record managing a shift or full maintenance operation.
  • Strong technical background with advanced knowledge of:
  • Welding, pneumatics, wiring, motor controls, PLC .
  • Refrigeration and electrical systems (1–3 years).
  • In-depth understanding of HACCP, USDA sanitation, and pre-operation guidelines .
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to teach, observe, and mentor on the plant floor.
