Job Description

The primary objective of the Warehouse Manager is to handle the daily operations of the warehouse, including freight, shipping and receiving, returns , and transfers. The manager also maintains high levels of accuracy in day-to-day operations and leads and develops the warehouse team. 

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements, enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with the data storage system.
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Inspect the condition of tools and equipment
  • Enforce all company rules and regulations
  • Ensure a high degree of detail and focus on every job
  • Communicate with drivers to ensure efficient delivery of products

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in direct warehouse management.
  • Has experience in Supply Chain Management

  • Ability to calculate basic math
