Job Title: IT Technician

Location: Sparta, NJ

Job Description:

The IT Technician serves as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance. This role involves resolving IT support tickets, providing Tier 1 technical support, and ensuring all IT issues are documented and efficiently addressed.

• Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues across hardware (PCs, printers, servers), software (Windows, macOS, Linux, Microsoft Office, third-party apps), networking (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi), and security (spam filters, malware, access requests).
• Manage IT support tickets, ensuring timely resolution in line with SLA targets; escalate complex issues to Senior IT staff as needed.
• Maintain and update the knowledge base/Wiki with common troubleshooting steps and application guides.
• Assist with IT projects, including system migrations, hardware upgrades, and network expansions.
• Collaborate with supervisors to recommend hardware and software purchases to improve system performance.

Requirements:

• Ability to simplify technical info for non-technical users.
• Proficient in Windows (10/11), macOS, business apps, networking (TCP/IP, LAN, wireless), and hardware peripherals.
• Knowledge of Windows Server (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS), Microsoft 365/Office 365, and virtualization (Hyper-V).
• Basic skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Linux Terminal.
• Strong writing skills for both technical and non-technical documentation.
• Valid driver’s license for site travel.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs of office equipment.

Education & Experience:

• Associate degree and CompTIA A+ preferred.
• 1–2 years of related experience or equivalent education.

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm temp-to-perm
