DESCRIPTION

CERTIFIED TEACHERS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A HIRING BONUS. Please only apply if you are currently certified by the NJ DOE. Empowerment Academy Charter School is GROWING and we are hiring Special Education Teachers for the upcoming year and beyond at our Middle and High School. Teachers that hold a certificate in Special Education issued by the NJDOE are eligible for a $3,000 bonus! We have the following anticipated vacancies:

• 5th Grade-8th Grade SPED Push-In and Pull-Out (all subject)
• 5th Grade-8th Grade SPED Push-In and Pull-Out (Math)
• 5th Grade-8th Grade SPED Push-In and Pull-Out (Science)
• High School Special Education ELA Teacher (dual certification required)
• High School Special Education Math and Science Teachers (dual certification required)
• High School Special Education Social Studies Teacher (dual certification required)

Base Salary SY25/26: $69,000-89,000

Hours: 7:15-3:45

Competitive Raises year to year, many BONUS and Stipend opportunities, no Master's needed.

TEACHER SUPPORTS

Teachers at Empowerment Academy are part of a school-wide team. They receive career-long coaching and professional development support from school leaders; work with their peers in professional learning communities (PLCs) to plan lessons and solve problems; and partner with an array of specialists to meet scholars’ diverse needs.

Examples of such teacher supports include:

• Abundant planning periods during the school day;
• A research-based curriculum and supporting curricular materials;
• High-quality formative assessments, aligned with the curriculum, that help identify when students have not achieved mastery of a skill, concept, or knowledge item; and
• Full-time reading and math specialists who tutor students struggling to master an essential skill, and counselors and social workers who help students struggling with non-academic problems.

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates MUST either hold a New Jersey Department of Education CE, Limited CE, CEAS or Standard Certificate in Special Education (TOSD or TOH). Please do not apply if you are not certified in New Jersey.
