Job Description

The Corporate Social Media Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a social media strategy that will drive innovation and engagement to improve market share throughout the portfolio. Past experience with social media management in the hotel industry is required. The ideal marketing professional should be a self-starter and a dynamic, creative thinker with an astute visual eye. Strong copywriting skills and a passion for photography and videography are a must. The Social Media & Content Manager will have demonstrated experience with organic and paid social media marketing, email marketing and website management. This position reports to the Corporate Director of Marketing and is an in-house position at the corporate office in located San Diego.

Role Overview: As the Social Media & Content Strategist, you will be the driving force behind our social media and content ecosystem, orchestrating strategies that elevate brand visibility, foster engagement, and ultimately bolster market share across our diverse portfolio. We are seeking a dynamic individual who thrives on pushing creative boundaries, possesses a sharp eye for visual aesthetics, and is deeply passionate about the travel industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Content Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives. Lead the ideation, creation, and dissemination of compelling content across various social platforms, driving organic growth and amplifying property priorities. Post to platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Google.
  • Collaborative Engagement: Forge strong partnerships with property leaders to curate authentic, locally-inspired content that resonates with our target audience. Seamlessly integrate social accounts with property websites and email marketing initiatives, optimizing visibility and engagement. Collaborate closely with corporate Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management teams to ensure alignment of messaging and maximize synergies across the portfolio.
  • Paid Ad Management: Oversee the development and implementation of all paid social campaigns, including ad management, bid management, audience research, lookalike audiences, and demographics.
  • Email Marketing Content Strategy: Collaborate with the marketing team to lead the development of email marketing content strategy. Create engaging graphics and copy that resonate with our audience, drive open rates, and increase click-through rates.
  • Influencer Management: Identify and engage with relevant influencers and content creators to amplify brand reach and enhance social credibility. Develop and maintain relationships with influencers, negotiating partnerships and collaborations that align with brand values and objectives.
  • Analytical Proficiency: Leverage tools such as the Meta Business Suite to monitor KPIs and deliver actionable reports that illuminate successes and areas for improvement.
  • Educational Leadership: Serve as a trusted advisor to property and corporate leadership, providing reporting, insights and recommendations on social media best practices, emerging trends, and performance metrics. Effectively communicate successes, challenges, and opportunities, empowering stakeholders to make informed decisions and prioritize initiatives that drive business growth.

Qualifications:

  • Expertise in navigating the Meta Business Suite for multiple accounts
  • Proven track record in social media & content marketing, preferably within the hospitality or travel industry.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, with a keen eye for visual storytelling.
  • Strong copywriting skills and a flair for crafting compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Experience with social media management platforms and paid advertising, including audience segmentation, bid management, and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms such as WordPress, email service providers like Revinate, and social media tools such as Sprout Social.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and insights to diverse stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally, visiting properties located in California, Oregon, Nevada, Texas, and Mexico.
