About the Role

A growing engineering and construction services firm is seeking a full-time Foundation Designer to join its Richardson, TX team. This role requires expertise in Post-Tensioning (PT) design standards and AutoCAD proficiency, with a focus on residential foundation projects. Ideal candidates will have a solid background in both post-tension and conventional (rebar) slab design and demonstrate the ability to work independently using architectural and geotechnical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design structural foundation plans for residential structures using architectural drawings
• Interpret and apply PTI Industry Standards and geotechnical reports
• Prepare post-tension and conventional slab designs with minimal supervision
• Read and interpret residential architectural blueprints, plot plans, and survey documents
• Collaborate with engineering and drafting teams to ensure timely and accurate plan delivery
• Maintain working knowledge of building codes and construction practices
• Perform basic math and geometry to support structural design calculations

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required
• Familiarity with PTI slab analysis and standards
• Prior experience with residential foundation design is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of geotechnical principles and construction materials
• Experience with concrete design outside of Texas is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability
