PROJECT MANAGER
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Company: Shuck Corporation
Overview:
Shuck Corporation is hiring a skilled, hands-on Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from start to finish. As a third-generation, family-owned general contractor serving Central Indiana since 1985, we’ve built our reputation on craftsmanship, trust, and doing things the right way. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing company where your voice matters, your work is valued, and your leadership will make a measurable difference.
In this role, you’ll oversee all phases of project delivery—from estimating support and kickoff meetings to scheduling, budgeting, client communication, and closeout. You’ll be the key liaison between our clients, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Your Responsibilities:
As a Shuck Project Manager, you’ll drive project performance by building strong relationships, communicating clearly, and solving problems in real-time. You’ll work closely with our estimating team during preconstruction, provide hands-on oversight throughout the project lifecycle, and serve as the client’s main point of contact. You’ll review contracts, manage documentation, lead meetings, issue updates, and make sure every element—from manpower to materials—is accounted for and aligned with project goals.
You’ll collaborate daily with field crews, offering support, direction, and coordination to keep things moving smoothly. Whether you’re walking a site, helping resolve a design issue, or guiding a subcontractor through a schedule change, you’ll always have an eye on delivering value to the client while upholding the standards Shuck is known for.
As part of our leadership team, you’ll also play a role in improving internal processes, sharing lessons learned, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement. This includes helping refine estimating practices, participating in professional development, and engaging in local networking opportunities to help grow our presence and reputation.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking someone with at least 8 years of construction management experience and a track record of leading successful projects. You should have a solid understanding of construction methods, tools, and materials, along with the ability to read and interpret blueprints with precision. A degree in construction management or a related technical field is preferred, and OSHA-30 certification is required.
Hands-on field experience is a must. You’ll need to feel comfortable walking a jobsite, stepping in when needed, and collaborating with crews to find practical solutions. Strong communication skills, sound decision-making, and a focus on quality are essential. We’re looking for someone who leads with integrity, thrives under pressure, and wants to grow with a team that’s committed to doing meaningful work.
You should also be proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new technologies. Experience with Bluebeam is a plus, as is any exposure to construction management or scheduling software.
Who We Are:
Shuck Corporation is proud to be a trusted partner to clients throughout Central Indiana. From concrete and rough carpentry to windows, doors, and interior specialties, we bring decades of experience to every job—backed by a team that cares deeply about craftsmanship and community. Our company is built on grit, accountability, and relationships, and we’re excited to welcome new leaders who share those values.
Our Mission:
To innovate and deliver long-lasting craftsmanship safely and efficiently, empowering our team and customers to confidently stand behind Shuck Corporation.
Our Core Values:
• Leadership – We build by inspiring and guiding others.
• Accountability – We build by taking ownership of our work.
