About the Role:

Kallmeyer is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Assistant to join our Product team. This is an entry-level role supporting the Head of Product and Production team across the execution of four seasonal collections, reorders, and special projects. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, independent, and passionate about the process of translating refined, elaborately designed ideas into exceptional finished garments. This role is an opportunity to be part of a small, high-performing team working at the intersection of creativity and organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Product team throughout the garment manufacturing process, from design approval stage through delivery. 

  • Collaborate closely with local and overseas development teams, patternmakers, and factories to ensure that all styles are executed to the highest standards of construction, efficiency, and quality, within the required timeline.

  • Support monitoring and reporting of production schedules and workflows.

  • Prepare production documents including cut tickets, manufacturer schedules, BOMs, and spec sheets for each production lot.

  • Attend development reviews; take detailed notes and help track changes to ensure the product aligns with the approved design. Prepare fit notes, spec prototypes, and prepare manufacturer comments

  • Work alongside the design, development, and production teams to identify opportunities for improvement on construction, materials, and lead-times for bulk production.

  • Support production team in estimating and organizing for the ordering of priority raw materials. Ensure all factories have the required raw materials prior to scheduled production. Collaborate with vendors, and suppliers to facilitate smooth operations.

  • Facilitate, source, and streamline suppliers of component raw materials.

  • Support in tracking and inventory of raw materials on hand.

  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized production environment.

  • Assist in managing quality control across in-process and finished garments, ensuring alignment with brand standards.

  • Facilitate pass-off to logistics team to ensure swift and safe transport to stores, warehouse, and studio as necessary.

  • Participate in cross-functional meetings related to production status, development feedback, and special project planning.

Qualifications:

  • 0–2 years of experience in fashion production or product development; luxury or contemporary womenswear experience strongly preferred.

  • Degree in Fashion Production, Fashion Design, or a related field is preferred.

  • Sharp eye for detail and strong interest in construction, fabrication, and finishing techniques.

  • Excellent communication and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple timelines.

  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Google Suite; familiarity with tech packs, BOMs, and Zedonk or other production softwares are a plus.

  • Must be based in NYC and available to work full-time on site, with ability to go to local factories on a daily and weekly basis.
