SpineSearch is seeking Physician Assistant (preferred) or Nurse Practitioner to join a leading and growing spine surgery practice in San Antonio. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a highly experienced spine surgeon in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with a strong focus on patient care, efficiency, and work-life balance.

This role offers a true 50/50 split between OR and clinic, giving the provider the opportunity to gain extensive surgical exposure while maintaining a meaningful connection with patients in the outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the spine surgeon in the operating room, performing first assist duties and perioperative management.
• Conduct clinic evaluations including patient histories, physical exams, and postoperative follow-ups.
• Provide patient education, pre-op and post-op care, and coordinate multidisciplinary communication.
• Perform rounding on surgical inpatients
• Participate in a rotating weekend first-call schedule shared with other APPs (very low call volume).
• Collaborate closely with the surgical and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient care.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (RNFA preferred)
• New graduates and experienced providers encouraged to apply
• Strong interest in spine surgery and orthopedics
• Prior experience in a surgical specialty (spine, Ortho, Neuro) highly preferred
• Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills
• Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care
