We have built a successful and diverse portfolio of projects over the past 4 decades with projects ranging from high end residential, commercial, railroad, greenhouses, and many more. We are a company who has a set crew of Carpenters who will self-perform specific scopes of work and then we have well established relationships with our subcontractors for specialty trades and work.

Requirements:

10+ years of Construction Estimating Experience

College Degree in related field

Job description:

The Estimator will work as part of a team and will manage and generate estimates for all bidding efforts, either collectively with the team or individually. They will be required to:

• Perform detailed quantity take-offs to determine accurate scope of work; organize the quantities with unit pricing in production of an estimate
• Review and estimate/budget scope of work based on drawing & construction documents
• Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price; creating and maintaining relationships for current and future work
• Responsible for calculating labor, material and all other costs associated with a project to use for actual bid, and to cross reference subcontractor numbers coming in as a checks and balances
• Create and submit proposals to clients within the specified timeframe and keep open communication with clients during bid process
• Responsible for managing and prioritizing multiple estimates/projects
• Create and execute sub contracts
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
• Responsible for building full conceptual cost estimates from architectural drawings/renderings
• Experience in developing and implementing value engineering solutions to drive down project costs for the Owner while maintaining a high level of construction quality
• Must be able to confidently negotiate throughout the bidding process
• Must be confident in doing quantity take-off's
• Must be familiar with bidding both private and public projects and capable in working with conceptual plans to help establish final designs.
• Must be able to review and understand the scope of work
• Manage trade coverage
• Oversight of MWBE compliance and coverage
• Prepare cost analysis in computer by outlining material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items and organizing them on company server
• Attend walk throughs as needed
• Design build experience a plus
