About the Role

Aldersgate Church is a warm, mission-centered community, and we’re looking for a creative, organized Communications Director to help tell the story of what God is doing in and through our church. This role ensures that everything we communicate—online, in print, and in person—reflects the mission and heart of Aldersgate. You’ll play an essential part in connecting people to the life and ministry of our church.

Primary Responsibilities

Weekly Tasks

· Create worship materials: - Design and align Sunday morning sermon slides - Prepare the weekly worship handout and send it to print

· Design weekly eNewsletter: Write, design, and distribute a clear and engaging weekly email update

· Maintain online presence: - Keep the website updated with current content, events, and announcements - Post regularly on social media with meaningful, mission-focused content

· Create visual assets: Design graphics and promotional materials for sermon series and church events

· Support event promotion: Coordinate digital and print materials to promote key church activities

Ongoing Projects

· Develop and maintain Aldersgate’s brand identity: Shape a consistent visual and written “voice” for the church

· Create a unified style and brand guide: Establish standards for fonts, colors, imagery, and tone

· Collaborate with staff and ministry leaders: Ensure messages are aligned with the church’s mission and overall communication strategy

Preferred Skills & Tools

· Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools

· Familiarity with website management (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace)

· Experience with email marketing platforms

· Comfortable managing social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)

· Active participation in the life of the church

· Skill and creativity in writing, design, and communication

· Experience managing websites and social media content

· Collaborative, flexible, and comfortable working with staff and volunteers

Work Environment & Schedule

Hybrid role with flexibility. Most tasks can be completed remotely, with occasional Sunday morning needs.
