Job Description

OVERVIEW:

The Facility Custodial Technician, organizes, monitors, and sustains all facility cleanliness activities and operations; ensures a safe, clean environment for all employees; performs a variety of maintenance tasks relative to facility upkeep. Performs various safety and research duties as assigned by the Safety Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Performs general, routine custodial duties, to include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
  • Expanded duties include Contamination Controlled manufacturing environment upkeep.
  • Working within an ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) controlled, manufacturing environment
  • Performs routine restocking and tracking of custodial equipment and supplies.
  • Empties trash receptacles, recycling vessels, and designates waste stream for proper disposal.
  • Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors with access to areas for cleaning and may answer basic questions.
  • Report issues and process gaps to supervisor.
  • Chemical and waste stream management.
  • Basic understanding of AC systems, chiller systems, compressor systems.
  • Basic understanding of LP Air System piping and plumbing.
  • Will be required to enter and access data using computer spreadsheets.
  • 24/7 Emergency Response Availability

REQUIREMENTS:

  • US Citizen or Legal US Resident
  • 3 Years Facility Maintenance Experience
  • Ability to understand and execute verbal instructions.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
  • Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.
  • Experience with the use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Experience with the use of hand and power tools applicable to job.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and sustain safety procedures.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong English comprehension and writing skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use of hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls and keyboarding; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
