Job Title: CNC Machinist – Setup, Operate, Edit (Vertical Mills)
Location: Beacon Falls, CT
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | Full-Time, On-Site
Pay Range: Competitive hourly rate (based on experience)
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join a busy and growing shop in Beacon Falls, CT. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on machinist with 5–6 years of experience in CNC setup, operation, and editing, particularly on vertical mills and lathes. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to take ownership of their work, grow with a company, and deliver consistent quality on the shop floor.
Responsibilities:
CNC Setup & Operation
• Set up and operate vertical milling machines
• Edit programs at the machine to meet part specifications
• Perform changeovers and first-piece inspections
• Maintain tooling, fixtures, and machine cleanliness
Quality & Workflow
• Monitor parts for accuracy and finish per customer requirements
• Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators
• Follow production schedules and complete work orders on time
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment
Team & Shop Support
• Collaborate with shop supervisors and team members
• Assist with troubleshooting machine or quality issues
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts
Requirements:
• 5–6 years of CNC Milling machine experience
• Strong ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings
• Comfortable editing G-code at the machine
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Reliable, punctual, and professional work ethic
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Vocational/technical training preferred
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This role is performed in a production machine shop setting. Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and work with basic hand tools and CNC machinery. Attention to safety, quality, and cleanliness is critical.
