Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing and optimizing CNC programs that drive our machining operations, from metal removal to complex part creation. This position combines programming expertise with hands-on shop floor support, including prototyping, tooling, training, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze blueprints, sketches, and design intent to generate accurate CNC machining codes
• Use charts, formulas, and calculations to determine part setup, cutting paths, speeds, and feeds
• Create and test CNC programs for machining centers and burn tables (plasma cutting)
• Utilize nesting software to program jobs for plasma table operations
• Set up, assemble, and preset tooling to support efficient machining operations
• Operate CNC machines as needed to support production or cover for other operators
• Maintain and manage all tooling, MRO supplies, and production materials
• Train new machinists and support continuous skills development on the shop floor
• Identify and correct machinery alignment or programming issues during operation
• Track and manage plate inventory to ensure production continuity
• Provide off-shift support for urgent production needs, as required
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required
• 1–6 years of hands-on CNC programming and machining experience
• Proficiency in Siemens 840SL and Haas controllers
• Experience with manual programming of accessory heads (Siemens)
• Proficient with nesting software used for plasma or burn table programming
• Strong understanding of shop mathematics and cutting parameters
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specs
• Skilled in using machinist tools such as micrometers, calipers, and machinist scales
• Knowledge of burn table operations and nesting processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Ability to lift tools/materials and work on the shop floor as needed
• Valid driver’s license and passport (or ability to obtain)
