Job Description

We are seeking a Capital Project & Maintenance Supervisor to join our chemical plant operations team. This role combines maintenance management, project leadership, and team supervision to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations within the plant. The successful candidate will manage both employees and contractors while supporting plant operations through strategic maintenance planning and capital project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise maintenance employees and contractors, including performance management, scheduling, and conflict resolution
  • Plan, schedule, and execute maintenance activities using SAP, including daily maintenance and plant shutdowns
  • Support capital projects from Front End Loading (FEL) through construction and commissioning
  • Implement Management of Change (MOC) processes for projects and improvements
  • Develop detailed work scopes, job sequences, labor estimates, and bills of materials
  • Procure materials, equipment, and services while managing project budgets and timelines
  • Create installation and repair procedures and build job kits
  • Analyze data to identify root causes and implement corrective measures
  • Support technical training for operations teams
  • Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in chemical production environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing employees and capital projects
  • Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management and ISO 9000/QS 9001 quality systems
  • Proficiency with SAP maintenance planning and scheduling
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple assignments
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Forklift operation capability
  • Ability to create piping diagrams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management certification
  • Six Sigma or LEAN Manufacturing experience
  • Six Sigma training or equivalent Quality certification.
